New York-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Vanessa Van Ness has presented a very personal single, immersing in her experience.
“The Early Bus” is dedicated to a car accident that occurred to her brother, life turns, and family ties. Instrumentally, the track seems to be inspired by the ‘70s UK post-punk and Dusseldorf motorik rock. The guitars are iridescent and evaporating, their deja vu melodies transfer you to a cold morning and a sleepy, misty feeling of being lost in a world where now the past and the present are in that very same bus. The music here has no peaks, but at the same time, through the honest lyrics, you can feel pain and great melancholy. However, this music is also incredibly spacious, cascading, and has psychedelic shades. Vanessa's voice sounds very deep and intimate, her hypnotic tone imprints in your memory, as if it’s snowing in the long-awaited summer.
