English band Wax Heart Sodality presents a diverting new single.
“Hoodwinked” is a somber and dynamic song that can be described as gothic stoner rock. Immersive sound, cryptic deep ‘80s-like vocals, bass under high voltage, juicy guitar fuzz and heavy psych solo. The Sisters of Mercy could have sounded like that if they had formed 15 years later in Palm Desert under the gigantic influence of The Doors. Wax Heart Sodality preaches about delusions and destructive gullibility, and the track seems to boil for a moment because of expressive fusions. This is a valuable example of interesting formations.
