Brooklyn musician and songwriter Max Gordon prepared his curious first track.
There’s a dynamic sound in the vein of unleashed indie pop and anti-folk hip hop with a touch of the ‘90s car cassette player. Neurosis and heartlessness are absorbed by drive, resentment and painful experience pour into sarcasm, relieving the burden, and attentive mocking with marking quotes. All this sounds as if Bo Burnham wrote lyrics for Cake, who came up with the arrangements during magnetic storms. By the 2-minute mark, Max Gordon’s music spreads with all its unique expressiveness.
