“Is This What You Really Want?” is written out of the disastrous situation with the forest fires in Australia, raging since last year. The track is like a paralyzing, numbing picture, full of restrained pain and despair. There’s proclaiming guitar post-dub, careful pulse of thick drums and deep bass, Caitlin Duff’s mesmeric, viscous vocals with a trip-hop intonation. All this is built on a lo-fi blurriness, where tension is wrapped in dream pop and neo-psychedelia.
