Bend The Future - Kiss & Fly

The Grenoble quintet released their debut album “Pendellosung,” and one of the great instrumental compositions from the LP is “Kiss & Fly.”

There’s supercluster keyboards, unmatched saxophone routes, skilful rhythm section, guitar sparkles, variety of influences - from world and new age music to jazz fusion, prog and post-rock. It’s like a soundtrack inside an aerocapsule that first lifts you up, and then slowly comes down through the steps of transcendental worlds to awakening worldly aromas, past gigantic buildings, landing on a midnight plateau. And as you leave it, you have an indescribably pleasant dizziness. With each new turn, “Kiss & Fly” sounds surprisingly fresh, without hiding the melodic staples and dozens of impressive small details. Bend the Future found an amazing middle ground between sentimentality and structure.
