The Classic Hunt - Camazotz

Philadelphia quintet The Classic Hunt present their new intriguing single “Camazotz.”

The band definitely stepped aside from their last year's post-rock/post-punk-ish indie EP “The Lyrids.” On “Camazotz,” the ragged rhythm guitar, heavy psych pieces of the lead guitars, the wandering bass and the retaining drum kit dam create an amazing melodic rise. And along with the restorative vocals of Tyler Hayduk and lyrics based on Madeleine L'Engle's “A Wrinkle in Time” (1962), they turn this track into a bizarre, convivial trip to a surreal pub where Babyshambles play Cream’s songs. One can also perpetuate this track by watching a music video in the vein of Jean Rollin on vacation in the last summer days.
