Bulgarian folk/ethno bass band Oratnitza has returned with their third album titled “Alter Ethno.”

This is a unique sound dimension that keeps sacred ancient echoes which fuse into magical vocal harmonies, such as in “Malo Selo” and “Pokrai Reka.” It is also a trance, forest trip-transition with an old cosmic cry, like in “Vezden Moma.” Sometimes the album sounds as if Harvey Mason joined Vedan Kolod. The diverse Balkan music passages and the play of traditional instruments stir up the soul. The track “Trunke, Todorke” fully exposes the wondrous and indescribable beauty. The enchanting instrumental solo flows into the vocal part, which binds with a rhythm bending like a wind. We can sure say that this is one of the most interesting albums that 2018 gave us.
